Twitter Changes
Since the last Twitter API updates, and in order to keep Twitter available for all current users, we had to limit your access to features related to this social network.
We have removed all other functionalities from this API keeping only the publishing feature, and with this we were still obligated to apply some limitations to this remaining feature, which you will be able to check next.
Here is a navigating menu so you can browse this short article:
- Minimum requirements to use the feature
- Currently available Swonkie features
- File Upload Specifications & Restrictions
- Daily Publishing Limits
- How publishing limits are shown
1. Minimum requirements to use the feature
- You must have a connected and active Twitter account on Swonkie.
- You need to have a paid plan in order to be able to publish.
2. Available Swonkie Features
- Mention another Twitter account
- Set hashtags
- Send Text, Link, Images, GIFs and Videos (up to 10 files per post)
3. File Upload Specifications & Restrictions
4. Daily Publishing Limits
In order to keep Twitter available for all current users we have done the following:
- Free plans, trials or any other plan with a value of 0 per month won't be able to use Twitter.
- Paid plans that cost 19,99€ per month or less will be able to publish up to 5 posts per profile per day, you can check below where and how this is shown to the user.
- Paid plans that cost above 19,99€ per month will be able to publish up to 100 posts per profile per day.
4.1 How publishing limits are shown
- Upon connecting the account the current daily limit is shown

- When the post is being created, the limits can be seen below the specific profile

- A notification is sent when the usage is at 90%
- If the limit is 5 posts per day, the notification suggests the plan upgrade.

- A notification is sent when the usage reaches 100%
Once this happens, you won't able to publish anymore posts for that specific Twitter Profile
- Independent of the daily limit, when it is reached, you get notified in app and by email
- 5 posts per profile per day limit, you can still upgrade the plan to extend the limit

- 100 posts per profile per day limit
- With 100 posts per profile per day limit, you would have reached the maximum limit imposed by Twitter, and you will have to wait for the restriction to be lifted.
There is no specific timing for this, and we can only estimate based on our experience, that the limit is reset every day between 7 AM and 12 PM. (keep in mind this is not officially recognized and might not be applicable to every case)
What we can certainly say is that once the limit is reached you can expect to be unrestricted in the next 24 hours.
Ideally, you must plan his operation to prevent this limit reach.
This can be done by controlling the number of posts already made in the Swonkie UI or, if the you automate posting via RSS Feed, you can set a queue that will never trigger more than 100 posts a day for each profile.
- When the number is even with the limit reached, a post is sent anyway

- Also independent of the daily limit, you get a visual indication, in multiple places, that the profile has reached its limit
