This article presents the change history in the Swonkie Insights area triggered by updates in social media APIs. Refer to it whenever you need to check what has changed in your insights.

Already created widgets on your dashboards will not be updated automatically. To reflect the new metrics, you will need to re-add them manually. Widget templates already reflect these changes.

Removal of impressions and plays, and addition of views in Instagram insights

Affected Metrics

The following metrics were affected by API changes — check below what has changed:

  • Plays Count Discontinued (no alternative metric)
  • Reels All Plays Count Discontinued (no alternative metric)
  • Clips Replays Count Discontinued (no alternative metric)
  • 28-day Impressions Discontinued (no alternative metric) – Just sum the last 28 days of the Daily Views metric
  • Daily Impressions Discontinued  (alternative metric: Daily Views)
  • Engagement Rate by Impressions Discontinued  (alternative metric: Engagement Rate by Views)
  • Post Impressions ChangedNo longer uses the old value and now represents views
  • Video Views ChangedNow represents the same value as impressions, but only for videos, for comparison purposes
  • Daily Views NewMetric is no longer based on the impressions removed by the API and now reflects views added via the API
  • Engagement Rate by Views NewNew formula replaces the previous one, adjusted to the views metric
