How Does Advanced Search Work in Social Listening?
The advanced search in Social Listening allows you to create more accurate searches to find the content you really want. Here are the different search options you can use:
1. "AND" Operator
Using the "AND" condition, you monitor posts that contain both keywords. For example, if you search for "Starbucks AND latte macchiato," only posts that mention both words will be imported.
2. "OR" Operator
With the "OR" condition, you can monitor posts that contain at least one of the keywords. For example, "Starbucks OR Costa" will bring all posts that mention at least one of these brands.
3. "AND NOT" Operator
If you want to exclude certain matches, use the "AND NOT" option. For example, "Starbucks AND NOT London" excludes all posts containing both Starbucks and London in the same post.

4. "PROXIMITY" Operator
The "PROXIMITY" operator allows you to find words that are close to each other. For example, "Car PROXIMITY/4 Tesla" will search for "Car" and "Tesla" if they are within 4 words of each other.
5. Grouping with Parentheses
Parentheses "()" help you organize search terms. For example, the query "(Ferrari AND Car) OR (Ferrari AND Enzo Ferrari)" will monitor posts containing the keyword "Ferrari" and the keyword "Car" in the same post, or also posts containing "Ferrari" and "Enzo Ferrari" in the same post.
6. Include and Exclude Exactly
The "Include Exactly" and "Exclude Exactly" options allow you to include or exclude words exactly as written. For example, if you type "Car," only posts with that exact word will be imported; variations such as "car" or "CAR" will not be considered.
