Social Media & Web Listening: Limitations and Features by Social Network

Swonkie's Social Media & Web Listening allows monitoring of selected mentions on social networks, but each network has specific restrictions. Below are the main details for each network.

Facebook

• To monitor mentions, add pages to Swonkie and select them when creating the project.
• You can see posts with mentions of the page even without keywords, as long as the Mention option is enabled in the project.
• Keyword search only happens in posts that mention the page.
• Imports posts from the last 3 months when creating the project.
• Imports up to 50 posts per update.
• Does not include sponsored posts or Facebook Stories.
• Mentions in personal profiles and Facebook groups are not monitorable.
• Interaction data such as likes and shares is captured at the time of import.
• Only public posts are imported.

Instagram

• Only monitors Instagram business accounts added to Swonkie.
• Keyword search is always done using hashtags.
• Imports posts from the last 3 months when creating the project.
• Collects up to 100 posts per update, but all posts mentioning the account are included with no limit.
• Only mentions in images are counted (videos and Reels are not monitored).
• Limit of 7 hashtags per added Instagram profile.
• Does not monitor ads or Instagram Stories posts.
• Only public posts are imported.

YouTube

• Searches for keywords in the video title or description, just like YouTube's own search.
• Imports posts from the last 3 months when creating the project.
• Limit of 50 posts per update, with updates every 24 hours.
• Only public videos are imported.

Pinterest

• Searches for keywords in titles and descriptions.
• Imports posts from the last 3 months when creating the project.
• Limit of 32 posts per update, with random order within the 3 months.
• Only public posts are included.

Reddit

• Searches for keywords in titles and descriptions.
• Imports posts from the last 3 months.
• Limit of 100 posts per update.
• Only public content is included.

Tumblr

• Searches in titles and descriptions.
• Imports posts from the last 3 months when creating the project.
• Limit of 20 posts per update, with updates every 24 hours.
• Only public content is monitored.

WordPress

• Searches Bing for keywords in the title, article, or description.
• Imports posts from the last 3 months when creating the project.
• Limit of 10 posts per update, with updates every 4 hours.
• Only public content is included.

Websites (Bing News and Google News)

• Search is done via Bing News and Google News, and the keyword is searched in the title or description returned by Google (the article is not opened).
• Imports posts from the last 3 months.
• Limit of 200 posts (100 from each source) per update, with updates every 4 hours.
• Only public content is monitored.

Summary - Countries

Percentage of posts found that are tagged with a country. Only YouTube and Websites send this data.

Statistics - Mentions by Day and Hour

Average mentions per day and hour. Example: The average is made for all Mondays in the selected time period and the hour being viewed.
